Arizona Beer Week 2020: Here’s What’s Happening At Four Peaks
Ever wonder why February is shorter than all the other months? It’s because Arizona Beer Week is so awesome that the higher-ups had to take some days out of February to avoid all the other months getting jealous. True story.
From February 6-16 (which is longer than a week, but we won’t tell if you won’t), bars, restaurants and breweries across the state will be hosting amazing events, and taps will be flowing with deliciousness at unheard-of rates. It’ll be Christmas for beer nerds.
Want to see everything we have planned for Beer Week? First, call your boss and ask for the week off. Then read on.
Hoop Driver Dinner
Four Peaks 8th Street
The chefs and brewers of Four Peaks are kicking off Arizona Beer Week the best way they know how: with a bunch of beer and food. Join them—and chefs from some of Phoenix’s most beloved restaurants—as they present a fabulous five-course feast perfectly paired with the finest brews in all the land. Each guest will also receive one bottle of Hoop Driver, a beer created by blending our favorite barrel-aged beers together in proportions chosen by Arizona chefs, distillers, and winemakers. View the full menu here.
Arizona Strong Beer Festival
Steele Indian School Park
Arizona’s annual celebration of strong and strongly flavored beers returns for its 20th year. Join us as we pour a dozen of our favorite specialty beers alongside 150 of our fellow brewers from Arizona, the U.S., and beyond.
The event is a fundraiser for the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild, an organization that’s instrumental in creating favorable business conditions for Arizona breweries and enabling our wonderful beer culture to grow.
Full event details can be found here.
Here’s what we’ll be bringing:
Barrel-Aged Kilt Lifter
Grape N’ Grain
New Fashioned CocktALE
Girl Scout Cookie & Beer Pairing
Four Peaks Wilson Party Palace
Peanut butter and jelly. Peaches and cream. Bacon and eggs. There are some food pairings that just work. And the greatest of these couplings, of course, is Girl Scout cookies and beer.
Join us for the return of our wildly popular cookie and beer pairing event during Arizona Beer Week, featuring six delicious brews paired with our favorite Girl Scout cookies (plus a few cookies of our own creation). With reps from the Four Peaks brewing and kitchen teams walking you through the flavor connections displayed in each of the pairings, you’ll leave with a full belly and a better understanding of how to pair beer with food—scout’s honor.
Each $30 ticket includes free appetizers, a reception beer, live music, and a guided flight of six cookies (some classic Girl Scout creations and some from our own kitchen) paired with six specialty beers. A reception beer and light snacks will be available from 5-6 p.m.; the event will start in earnest at 6. Get tickets here.
Beer Can Derby 2020
Four Peaks 8th Street
11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
It’s a boxcar derby. With beer cans. At a brewery. It’s the Four Peaks Beer Can Derby, and it’s back for Arizona Beer Week 2020 to bring you all the nonstop drama and heart-pounding action that races between wood blocks on wheels can deliver.
Entry into this year’s epic contest is $10 and includes a starter kit to be picked up at Four Peaks’ 8th Street brewery in Tempe beginning January 28. $5 from each entry will be donated to a local Boy Scout troop, which will also have a presence at the event. View the rules and buy your entry here.
