If you’ve ever wondered the answer to any of these questions, you’re the perfect candidate for the Four Peaks Beer Academy. Join experts from Four Peaks each month as they host a deep-dive seminar into a particular beer-related topic. Whether you’re an aspiring Cicerone or just want to know a bit more about the world’s greatest beverage, you’ll find each class to be filled with valuable info—and tasty beer samples. You’ll drink, you’ll eat, you’ll laugh, you’ll learn.
Each class is $25 and includes light appetizers, beer and ingredient samples, and a custom pen and notepad. You can sign up for each session individually, or for all four at the reduced rate of $80. Buy tickets here.
WEEK 1 – Wednesday, July 24
Ingredients & the Brewing Process
What better way to learn about the process of making beer than by actually watching one get brewed? This interactive session will feature live brewing demonstrations, plus in-depth examinations of the four main ingredients in beer and an exploration of the ways each can impact a beer’s flavor, aroma, and appearance.
WEEK 2 – Wednesday, August 28
Beer Styles & How to Taste Beer
Drinking beer is easy. Tasting beer—actually appreciating a beer’s flavor and nuance—takes work. In this session, you’ll discover the secrets of expert beer judges and learn how to differentiate between dozens of beer styles.
WEEK 3 – Wednesday, September 25
Butter. Paper. Vinegar. Skunks. We’ve all tasted some flavors in beer that definitely shouldn’t be there. In this session, you’ll learn all about what causes these defects and how you can avoid them—whether you’re brewing beer or just drinking it.
WEEK 4 – Wednesday, October 23
Pairing Beer And Food
While undoubtedly delicious separately, food and beer can elevate one another in dramatic and unexpected ways when enjoyed together. Four Peaks’ talented chefs will be co-hosts for this flavorful session covering the basics of cooking with beer and selecting the perfect beer for any dish.
